Saturday saw perfect sunny skies, and a perfect day for Tauranga Estate's annual "Groove in the Grapes" music event. 

Food trucks, live music, and of course, wine, was the order of the day for the hundreds of enthusiastic punters as they pitched their sun marquees and spread out their picnic blankets. 

The Meteors kicked off the musical line-up, with a selection of covers. A great accompaniment as the crowds grazed over their picnics before a few eager souls ventured towards the stage and created the first dance floor of the afternoon. 

As The Meteors wrapped up their last set, covers band Sound Republic took to the stage. Entertaining the crowd with a selection of well-loved covers from across the decades. 

Sound Republic are no strangers to the event, having performed last year as their alter ego - That 90s Band - Aotearoa's only pure-90s covers act. 

As the afternoon wore on, the band kicked things up into a higher gear performing rockier numbers from the likes of Green Day, Nirvana, Letters to Cleo, and Avril Lavinge. 

It was soon time for headline act, NZ rock icons The Feelers with eager fans moving up towards the stage in anticipation of the local rock legends. 

Taking to the stage with some of their biggest hits, including Pressure Man, Space Cadet and As Good As It Gets, the crowd around the stage grew as the band busted through hit after hit. 

Fans both young and 'experienced' sang along, jumped, and danced as The Feelers played to an eager crowd into the early evening. 

With the sun now slipping low in the sky, the event wrapped up for another year. Hopefully with the news of New Zealand moving into the Red-Light COVID alert grade later that night this won’t be the last of music events this summer!
