Simon Cowell has defended criticism against his shows from Paul Weller.  

During a press conference [see below] for the talent show 'The X-Factor', Cowell said "With Elton [John] we have had this love/hate relationship. I love him because he is bitchy. Simon Cowell is to be honoured with a special BAFTA award next month.  

The creator of shows such as American Idol and the X Factor will receive the award at the annual show on June 6th at the London Palladium.

Chair of the BAFTA's TV committee John Willis told BBC News he was "delighted" to recognise "one of the most brilliant entertainment producers of our time".

Rage Against the Machine are going to invite Susan Boyle to perform with them when they play a free concert at London's Finsbury Park this June.
