Best Coast have unveiled their new single 'The Only Place' which can be heard below.  

The song is to be part of the band's forthcoming album of the same name which is to be released on May 14th.  The sophomore album has been produced by Jon Brion, who has worked most notably with Kanye West and Rufus Wainwright.

Big Day Out 2012

January 20th: Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland

Yesterday marked the final time that Auckland would host a Big Day Out. Mt Smart Stadium has been home to the festival every year since 1994 (with the exception of a year off in 1998) and the wheels were in motion to make sure that the event went out in style.

Best Coast have announced plans for second album, the follow up to their 2010 debut 'Crazy For You', stating it will be a more "mature" release.  

Frontwoman Bethany Cosentino told the Alternative Press "The new songs include less melodrama about 'My boyfriend is annoying and doesn't like me' and more about me and what's going on in my life not in relationships."

Best Coast are adamant there is no ill feeling between them and their former drummer Ali Koehler who left the band last week.  

Koehler announced she was out of the band via her Twitter writing "Cat's outta the bag, I'm not in Best Coast anymore."  When asked why she replied "your guess is as good as mine."
