MGMT Drummer Walks Off Stage After Glass Thrown At Him

Small

MGMT were forced to leave the stage early after a missile was thrown at them.

The incident happened during a show in Manchester, England on Sunday night.  The band were performing their song 'The Handshake' when drummer Will Berman was hit by a glass of beer.  Berman immediately stopped drumming and walked off.  His MGMT band mates were unaware what had happened, asking fans "Where's Will?".

Initial reports thought the liquid was in fact urine, however the band have admitted it was beer.  Band member Andrew VanWyngarden commented "As we understand, thrown cups of beer are a sign of affection over here, whereas thrown bottles of urine mean the opposite. So, thank you Manchester for your affection."

The group was forced to finish the show without a drummer and they did not return for an encore.
