The Stone Roses Officially Reform

Small

The Stone Roses have announced at a Press Conference that they are back together.

The band's original line-up consisting of singer Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani and drummer Reni, will perform two special homecoming shows at Heaton Park next June which is then to be followed by a world tour.  A note on their website reads "The band have already been into a rehearsal studio to start work on the set-list for the one of the most eagerly anticipated reunifications ever."  The group are also hopeful they will release a new album with Brown commenting  "We hope so. But we said that before didn't we?"

Although The Stone Roses only released two albums [The Stone Roses in 1989 and Second Coming in 1994] the group has a huge following and spawned hits such as 'Fools Gold', 'She Bangs The Drums', 'One Love', 'Waterfall' and 'Love Spreads'.

Mani and Reni both left the Stone Roses in 1995, with the rest of the band dissolving the following year.
