Katy Perry Gunning To Break Michael Jackson's Record

Small

Set to release the sixth single from her 'Teenage Dream' album 'The One That Got Away', Katy Perry will have one eye on the Billboard singles chart to see if she can break a record set by Michael Jackson.

In the late 80's, Jackson became the first person to have five Number 1 singles on the Billboard Chart from the same album.  His album 'Bad' managed the feat with the songs 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', 'Bad', 'The Way You Make Me Feel', 'Man In The Mirror' and 'Dirty Diana'.  Perry has since equaled the record with 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Firework', 'ET' and 'Last Friday Night'.

EMI's VP Greg Thompson commented to Billboard  "If it goes to No. 1, that would be great. If not, we still have a Katy song on the radio in fourth quarter."
