Former Iron Maiden Singer Released Early From Prison

Small

Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno has been released early from prison after serving two months of a nine month sentence for benefit fraud.

In February at the Salisbury Crown Court in the UK, Di'Anno admitted the crime which saw him claim over £45,000. The singer had claimed the incapacity benefit, telling authorities he'd suffered nerve damage to his back and that he was unable to work. The Department of Work and Pensions had received a tip-off which claimed he was still singing.  He was later sentenced in March.

Upon his release Di'Anno commented "Back home again, and looking forward to Running Free Again, and seeing you all in a few weeks. Relieved to say, I managed not to drop the soap!"
