Eagles Of Death Metal Bassist Battling Cancer

Brian O'Connor, bassist from the band Eagles of Death Metal, has been diagnosed with cancer.  

O'Connor released a statement that read "In regards to my current health situation, with the remarkable support and love from my amazing friends and family, I am receiving the best medical and moral attention one could ask for. I cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support and involvement. I am excited for my full recovery and look forward to getting back to what I love most, melting face with my bass. I'm feeling great, after all, I am half-unicorn. Keep ya posted."

The Dead Weather and Queens of the Stoneage bassist Dean Ferita will fill-in for O'Connor on the Eagles of Death Metals current tour.  

The band Them Crooked Vultures are planning shows in London and Los Angeles so they can raise money for O'Connor's his treatment as he has no medical insurance.  He is scheduled to undergo surgery today and begin chemotherapy in three weeks.
