Corey Taylor From Slipknot Not Joining Velvet Revolver

Slash has revealed that Corey Taylor from Slipknot has not been recruited as the new singer for Velvet Revolver.  

During an interview with Argentian website Vorterix.com (which can be viewed below), Slash stated "We did work with Corey, but all we were doing was trying him out. Our process is that we take a lot of music we wrote and give it to the guy we're auditioning, he writes his lyrics, we perform it, record it and see what it's like. So he did come in and do all that, but it just wasn't right. It didn't seem to fit to me. It didn't seem like the answer to the Velvet Revolver problem."

He added that "No new singers that are good enough for the group have popped up."  

Slash also confirmed that he is planning a new solo album and tour next year and that any new Velvet Revolver album would be at least two years off.
