Bret Michaels Undergoing Heart Surgery
Poison frontman Bret Michaels is undergoing surgery in Arizona to fix a hole in his heart.
The hole was discovered last year when Michaels was in hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage and then a stroke. Doctors at the St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix are hopeful they can plug the hole with a permanent device. The procedure involves inserting a scope into the groin region and then guiding a closure device to repair his heart.
The 47 year old told AZcentral.com "Barring any complications, I should be out within three to four days. Then, I will be down (resting) for three weeks. I don't know if I can sit around for that long, but I'll try my best."
